City of Saskatoon
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
The holiday season is one of the most wasteful times of the year. Product packaging, gift wrap, store flyers, decorations, and food waste are in abundance. It’s also one of the busiest times of the year with parties, dinners, concerts, shopping, baking, and other activities – not to mention people are being inundated with mass advertising. Reduction and diversion is a high priority for the City of Saskatoon and they wanted to cut through the noise of the holiday season to communicate effectively with residents. Ensuring they were informed and educated during this hectic (ahem…festive) time of year.
This campaign anchors itself in the holiday season with familiar holiday imagery that serves as a friendly reminder to recycle better. Quirky ugly sweater associated with the season became the vehicle to deliver core messages, eliminating the need to reiterate the campaign slogan on each application while being instantly recognizable and fun.
