Mia's Restaurant
Solana Beach, California
Mia’s is a new casual concept restaurant nestled in the Solana Beach Cedros Design District, a haven of art, culture and community. It all began in San José del Cabo with Mia, the owner's sweet Baja mutt rescue. After years of traveling and soaking up the coastal-inspired food, warmth, and laid-back Mediterranean vibes, they felt inspired to bring that same lifestyle home by crafting delicious, sustainably sourced dishes that combine the sun-kissed flavors of Baja California with the vibrant spirit of the Mediterranean Coast in an energetic and friendly communal atmosphere.

Building on the laid back nature of the restaurant's concept, a custom handwritten script in a fiery serrano orange became the identifiying mark. It is paired with a rounded American Southwestern typeface, Akando, that draws on typographic details from crates of tequila. Quirky illustrations of the restaurant’s canine mascot, compliment the identity and highlight the restaurants primary product offerings.

Mia’s is now the go-to neighborhood spot for “Baja-Med” cuisine, where every guest feels like family and enjoys fresh, handmade food and drinks in an inviting and approachable setting. Ion was happy to contribute to the success of Mia's restaurant concept and continues to evolve the brand as it grows.
